Allie Hasson
Allie Hasson is an independent visual artist and amateur naturalist working in Chicago. Allie works in painting, bookmaking, illustration, and collage to explore themes including our reciprocal relationship to the natural world, radical empathy, and maternal subjectivity.
In the past, Allie has worked for institutions such as Smithsonian’s National Postal Museum, Smithsonian’s National Museum of Asian Art, and the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago, all of which have enriched her personal practice and provided an awareness of her artistic voice within a historical context.
Allie grew up in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia and now lives in Chicago with her husband and two small children.
